We are currently seeking a dedicated Logistics Route Coordinator to join a prominent organization specializing in general freight operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee route optimization for full load and general freight operations.
  • Utilize geographical expertise to enhance fleet efficiency.
  • Manage and supervise driver workloads effectively.
  • Address driver inquiries both in person and via phone.
  • Report any discrepancies in tracking to the Logistics Planning Supervisor.
  • Ensure drivers are informed of any road issues and maintain timely deliveries.
  • Coordinate with the Logistics Planning Supervisor regarding vehicle maintenance schedules.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in general freight route optimization is essential.
  • Strong customer service skills within a logistics environment.
  • Familiarity with transport planning software is advantageous.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge is a must.
  • Experience in a fast-paced logistics planning role.
  • Ability to work towards revenue targets in HGV route management.
  • Proficient in using system-based planning tools.
  • Solid understanding of tachograph regulations.
  • Strong administrative and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Competent decision-making abilities.

In this role, you will ensure that customer service expectations are prioritized in the delivery plan while maintaining a focus on profitability. You will also be responsible for ensuring that drivers receive appropriate start times and are thoroughly briefed on their daily tasks before their shifts commence.

As a Logistics Route Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in reviewing driver routes to maximize operational efficiency, keeping customers informed of any service disruptions or significant delays, and serving as the communication link between customers and drivers.
