Regulatory Engagement Manager at Smart DCC
Role Overview:
The Regulatory Engagement team is tasked with overseeing interactions with key regulatory stakeholders, including Ofgem, DESNZ, Ofcom, and DSIT, while shaping the regulatory framework for DCC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate DCC's participation in governance groups related to the Smart Meter Implementation Programme, aiding in decision-making processes, including planning and risk management.
- Collaborate with DCC Subject Matter Experts to effectively engage and influence regulatory stakeholders, aligning with DCC's broader business objectives.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of DCC's regulatory stakeholders and their key personnel to enhance DCC's influence in critical areas.
- Plan and manage stakeholder engagement initiatives to ensure effective communication.
- Keep DCC's senior leadership informed about significant stakeholder issues and emerging trends, providing necessary briefings for high-level meetings.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Oversee engagements with government bodies and regulators, influencing regulatory decision-making in collaboration with internal teams.
- Establish strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to present DCC's perspectives in a compelling and well-supported manner.
- Implement strategies for information sharing to enhance stakeholder intelligence and ensure consistent messaging across DCC.
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify government and regulatory priorities for system enhancements and new policy interventions, providing insights for the Board and Executive Committee.
- Identify and escalate significant issues arising from DCC's interactions with regulators, ensuring relevant senior management is informed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate across various organizations.
- Strong facilitation and organizational skills, with experience engaging a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize effectively amidst competing demands.
- Proven experience in supporting subject matter experts in communicating complex issues clearly and concisely.
- Experience working in complex environments with multiple stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in major government projects is desirable.
