Role Overview: We are in search of an experienced Stakeholder Engagement Consultant with a comprehensive grasp of financial markets, particularly in OTC derivatives and bonds. The successful candidate will possess a background in government relations, trade associations, regulatory affairs, or related fields, with significant expertise in navigating the regulatory environment and fostering collaborative relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Identification: Recognize and prioritize essential stakeholders within the financial markets ecosystem, emphasizing banks, trade associations, and pertinent industry groups across various jurisdictions.
  • Relationship Development: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to encourage collaboration and constructive dialogue.
  • Advocacy and Policy Monitoring: Keep track of regulatory changes and policy initiatives, work alongside the Regulatory Affairs Specialist, advocate for the company's interests through proactive engagement, and assist in the analysis and drafting of relevant documents.
  • Industry Thought Leadership: Share insights and thought leadership through presentations, whitepapers, and participation in industry events.
  • Collaboration Across Functions: Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure cohesive strategies regarding regulatory matters and advocacy efforts.
  • Event Coordination: Organize and manage stakeholder engagement events, including conferences and industry forums.
  • Market Analysis: Remain informed about market trends and industry developments that may impact the organization, providing regular updates and analytical insights.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, government relations, or public policy advocacy within the financial services sector.
  • Knowledge: Profound understanding of financial markets infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and industry dynamics, particularly in the UK and Europe. Familiarity with other regions, such as the US or APAC, is advantageous.
  • Relationship Management: Proven ability to establish and sustain relationships with stakeholders, including financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly and succinctly to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail, adept at synthesizing market intelligence and regulatory information into actionable insights.
  • Self-Motivated and Proactive: Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to Travel: Openness to travel as required.
