Payroll Supervisor Opportunity

Our client, Payroll Elite, is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join their small, friendly payroll team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, processing their payrolls, and dealing with client queries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with clients and enter payroll data from start to finish
  • Reconcile payroll to client data, obtain client approval, and issue payroll reports and payslips
  • Review team member work and prepare payroll journals
  • Reconcile weekly and monthly PAYEF figures and prepare BACS files
  • Administer Pension Auto-enrolment, including making declarations to The Pensions Regulator
  • Produce and distribute pension scheme returns and upload to pension providers
  • Deal effectively with client queries, HMRC, and other business-related matters
  • Assist with onboarding new clients
Requirements:
  • Client payroll or payroll bureau experience is essential
  • Able to calculate tax, NI, pensions, etc. manually
  • Good working knowledge of statutory family leave, SSP, salary sacrifice, and pensions
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Evidence of being a proactive, hands-on team player who can work to changing priorities in a busy department
  • A natural organiser with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Flexibility to work longer hours during busy periods
  • MS Office (intermediate Excel) skills

This is a fixed-term contract role for 12 months, with potential for permanence. The role involves hybrid working, with 2 days at home and 3 days in the office. You must be able to drive to the office.
