Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Safety and Compliance Specialist to lead our health and safety initiatives by providing expert advice, support, and guidance.

The Safety and Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all pertinent health and safety regulations while assisting both employees and management in fostering a safe working environment.

This role includes investigating incidents or near misses to determine underlying causes and recommend measures to avert future occurrences. This may involve proposing modifications to equipment, processes, or protocols.

  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to identify potential risks and verify safety compliance
  • Formulate and implement safety policies and procedures to uphold a secure workplace
  • Examine accidents, incidents, and near misses to ascertain root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Deliver safety training to staff on topics such as hazard identification and emergency preparedness
  • Compile safety performance reports and present insights to management
  • Collaborate with leadership on initiatives aimed at enhancing safety
  • Perform risk assessments and assist in crafting risk mitigation strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a comparable role
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis
  • Previous experience in the airside sector is beneficial but not essential
  • Exceptional report writing skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Effective communication abilities, both verbal and written
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexibility in work hours is essential as operations are conducted 7 days a week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
