Position Overview

Safety and Compliance Manager

Location: Hounslow

Compensation: £75,000 + Bonus and Benefits

Carbon60 is collaborating with a prominent client to identify a Safety and Compliance Manager who will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic safety initiatives. This position involves providing comprehensive guidance and support to Programme Managers and Senior Project Managers in the realm of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and mentor a team of three direct reports, aligning their daily tasks and long-term goals with the overarching organizational strategy.
  • Utilize extensive experience in safety management across various sectors, including construction, transportation, and engineering.
  • Possess a National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) and be a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH).
  • Advantageous to have a National Certificate in Fire Safety (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and effective stakeholder engagement.

Primary Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Safety and Wellbeing team to ensure that organizational standards are established, implemented, and embraced within Infrastructure Solutions.
  • Assess project complexities and risks to prioritize site visit schedules while fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct incident investigations in a cooperative manner to identify root causes and disseminate learnings across departments.
  • Facilitate teamwork between Infrastructure Solutions and other divisions (e.g., Engineering, Operations) to address complex safety challenges effectively.
  • Lead the development of assurance plans for your team to execute.
  • Formulate and implement Safety Improvement Plans.
  • Enhance team capabilities through coaching and mentoring initiatives.
  • Continuously improve personal competencies in Fire, Health, and Safety.
  • Design campaigns to encourage reporting of close calls and incidents within Infrastructure Solutions.
  • Ensure proper management of incident reporting processes and compliance with regulatory requirements.
