Job Overview

DO&CO is seeking a dedicated and proactive Health and Safety Officer to enhance our health and safety protocols through expert advice, support, and guidance.

The Health and Safety Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring that DO&CO complies with all relevant health and safety legislation while also assisting employees and management in fostering a secure work environment.

This position involves investigating incidents or near misses to uncover underlying issues and recommending effective solutions to prevent recurrence. This may include suggesting modifications to equipment, procedures, or operational processes.

  • Perform regular inspections and audits to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to safety standards
  • Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to uphold a secure workplace
  • Examine accidents, incidents, and near misses to ascertain root causes and propose corrective measures
  • Deliver safety training to staff on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency procedures, and safe work practices
  • Compile reports on safety performance and communicate findings to management
  • Collaborate with leadership to create and implement safety enhancement initiatives
  • Conduct risk assessments and assist in formulating risk reduction strategies
  • Maintain comprehensive records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a comparable role
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and industry best practices
  • Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in root cause analysis
  • Experience in airside operations is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Exceptional report writing skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexibility in work availability is essential, as operations run seven days a week, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
