Key Responsibilities

As a Pipe Fabricator, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Operating both conventional and CNC machinery to fabricate landing gear pipes, ensuring adherence to production protocols and quality standards.

• Occasionally providing support to the Landing Gear Assembly line as needed.

• Demonstrating self-motivation and effective problem-solving skills, particularly in addressing non-compliance and operational challenges.

• Actively participating in initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and reducing production timelines.

• Setting up and maintaining tools, measuring devices, and automated control systems.

• Loading and configuring computer programs as per production specifications.

• Executing machine operations while conducting necessary intermediate inspections to verify compliance with geometric tolerances and quality standards.

• Inspecting finished products for defects and engaging in corrective actions when necessary.

• Documenting production data accurately in management systems.

• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, tools, and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.

• Proposing technical and organizational improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications


• Completion of a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ level 3 qualification.

• Commitment to high standards of health, safety, and environmental practices.

• Familiarity with the principles of pipe manufacturing processes.

• Experience in assembly and production acceptance testing.

• General knowledge of fabrication techniques and machinery.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and test instructions.

• Awareness of Foreign Object Damage (FOD) risks.

• Proficiency in quality management tools such as 5S and Lean methodologies.

• Capability to perform self-inspections and dimensional measurements.

• Understanding of NC machine programming is advantageous.

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility to work on a rotating shift basis, which includes:

• Day shifts

• Night shifts with premium pay

• Bridging shifts with additional compensation

• Weekend shifts with enhanced pay rates.
