Landing Gear Production Technician

Job Summary
Safran Landing Systems is a leading manufacturer of aircraft landing and braking systems, and we are seeking a skilled Pipe Fabricator to join our team. As a Pipe Fabricator, you will be responsible for operating conventional and numerically controlled (CNC) equipment to produce high-quality landing gear pipes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC equipment to perform production of landing gear pipes, including bending, swaging of hydraulic fittings, and pressure testing.
- Load computer programs specified in production procedures and input production equipment settings to ensure accurate and efficient production.
- Run machine programs to perform operations, perform intermediate checks, and ensure geometric tolerances and quality compliance.
- Inspect finished products and identify any defects, and take part in adjustment or follow-up operations as needed.
- Enter and save/log production data in the production management file, and maintain workstations, tools, and work areas in good condition.
- Propose technical improvements to products and/or processes, or organizational improvements to workflows, workload, etc., aimed at improving work conditions and industrial performance indicators.
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or NVQ level 3.
- High standard of Health, Safety & Environmental compliance.
- Understanding of basic principles of pipe manufacture process.
- Knowledge of Assembly and completion of associated production acceptance testing.
- General knowledge of Fabrication and relevant machinery.
- Ability to follow and understand technical drawings, specs, procedures, and Test instructions.
- Understanding of risks related to Foreign Object Damage (FOD).
- Knowledge of and proficiency with quality tools, such as 5S, Lean/6-Sigma.
- Ability to self-inspect and complete dimensional measurements.
- Understanding of programming of NC machines (advantageous).
