About the Role

Safran Landing Systems is a leading manufacturer of aircraft landing and braking systems, committed to innovation and safety in the aviation industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of efficient landing gear systems for civil and military aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and detail efficient landing gear systems for civil and military aircraft to meet demanding customer requirements.
  • Support the design and manufacturing of landing gear systems across the whole life-cycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and program management.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and technical reports.
  • Provide technical presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members to ensure knowledge transfer and development.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering.
  • Proven experience in design and development of landing gear systems or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of design and manufacturing processes, including computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other Safran sites and customers within the UK.
