Job Summary

Safran Landing Systems is a leading manufacturer of aircraft landing and braking systems, and we are seeking a skilled Pipe Fabricator to join our team. As a Pipe Fabricator, you will be responsible for operating conventional and numerically controlled (CNC) equipment to produce high-quality landing gear pipes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC equipment to perform production of landing gear pipes, including bending, swaging of hydraulic fittings, and pressure testing.
  • Load computer programs specified in production procedures and input production equipment settings to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Run machine programs to perform operations and perform intermediate checks to ensure geometric tolerances and quality compliance.
  • Inspect finished products and identify any defects, and take part in adjustment or follow-up operations as needed.
  • Enter and save/log production data in the production management file and maintain the workstation, tools, and work area in good condition.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of basic principles of pipe manufacture process and knowledge of assembly and completion of associated production acceptance testing.
  • General knowledge of fabrication and relevant machinery, and ability to follow and understand technical drawings, specs, procedures, and test instructions.
  • Understanding of risks related to Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and knowledge of and proficiency with quality tools, such as 5S, Lean/6-Sigma.
  • Ability to self-inspect and complete dimensional measurements, and an understanding of programming of NC machines is an advantage.

Shift Information

Shift work will be required on a 4-shift, 4-week rotation, including dayshift, nightshift, bridging shift, and weekend shift, with premium payments for nightshift and weekend shift.
