GLG seeks a seasoned legal or compliance professional to spearhead its EMEA Compliance team, based in London.

Our clients rely on GLG's vast network of over 1 million expert members and approximately 3,000 employees worldwide to deliver 24/7 insights and exceptional service within a rigorous, industry-leading compliance framework. Compliance at GLG is multifaceted, encompassing both internal and external aspects.

We collaborate with business colleagues, clients, and experts to safeguard client confidentiality, protect sensitive information, and ensure adherence to expert obligations and conflicts of interest. We also engage regularly with existing and prospective clients to discuss our comprehensive framework.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Supervise GLG's EMEA compliance team and serve as a key member of GLG's global compliance department, reporting directly to the U.S.-based Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Provide timely and insightful support to client service professionals across the EMEA region, focusing on solutions that deliver best-in-class service while effectively mitigating risk.
  • Engage regularly with senior management within the EMEA region.
  • Partner with legal and business teams globally to advance business initiatives while upholding GLG's industry-leading compliance standards.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for compliance officers at existing and prospective EMEA clients, confidently articulating key aspects of GLG's value proposition.
  • Directly collaborate with clients to assist in implementing their compliance policies.
  • Oversee and lead training initiatives for GLG EMEA employees.
  • Make informed decisions and implement effective solutions on all compliance matters.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Demonstrated experience in compliance or risk management within a relevant industry sector.
  • 7+ years of combined experience in a law firm, financial services organization, corporate environment, or regulatory role, ideally within an international setting.
  • Familiarity with the financial services industry and related securities laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated success in managing complex matters from initiation to completion.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and the capacity to quickly distill complex information into concise and actionable recommendations.
  • Experience in managing a team and providing effective training to others.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in at least one additional EMEA language is highly beneficial.
  • A law degree is preferred.
