About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as the Head of Compliance Advisory - EMEA. This is a senior role that will require you to provide expert advice and guidance on compliance matters to our EMEA business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for advice and independent challenge on compliance obligations and risks to the EMEA business.
  • Provide guidance and support to the EMEA business on compliance matters, including regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Manage the escalation and response of complex regulatory and compliance queries between the business and Compliance subject matter experts.
  • Attend EMEA business Governance, Risk, Compliance & Assurance (GRCA) committees on behalf of Compliance.
  • Review and advise on compliance input and actions required for new business activities.
  • Provide Compliance expertise and advice during regulatory inquiries and investigations.
  • Review and provide guidance on new products or activities as part of the new business approval process.
  • Assist the Compliance Training team with the allocation, content, and delivery of Compliance training.
  • Provide input into and support of the strategy of the EMEA business.
  • Provide input and content to EMEA Compliance Risk Assessments.
  • Support internal audit and/or the in-scope business on actions identified by audit or LOD2 assurance review.
  • Advise the business on interpretation of applicable rules and regulations and manage the implementation of such rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in a senior position, covering the EMEA region in an advisory or regulatory role.
  • Extensive knowledge of the EMEA Energy physical commodity and financial markets.
  • Deep knowledge of the Shell Energy businesses.
  • Robust knowledge and understanding of global and regional financial regulations, compliance requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (or equivalent work experience).
  • Demonstrated experience with leading a business and organisational transformation, including change management, and project delivery and championing.
  • Demonstrated experience with setting global function vision and strategy.
  • Proven leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and drive performance and encourage positive team dynamics.
  • Robust written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation, both internally and externally, and engage with a wide range of stakeholders internal and external.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner effectively within a global leadership team.
