Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Clinical Respiratory Specialist to join our expanding Cardio-Respiratory team. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary qualifications and experience to deliver high-quality physiological assessments, including a comprehensive array of basic and advanced respiratory, sleep, and oesophageal services, catering to both outpatient and inpatient populations.

The successful applicant will ideally hold an ARTP qualification, either Part I and Part II or the Practitioners qualification. This role also presents an excellent opportunity for recent graduates in the field. The candidate should demonstrate a proactive attitude and effective communication skills, collaborating with various healthcare professionals, including medical and nursing staff.

Main Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Conduct a variety of specialized respiratory and sleep assessments and treatments to support the diagnosis and management of referred patients.
  • Perform essential tests, including but not limited to:
    • Spirometry
    • Reversibility assessments
    • Static lung volume measurements via body plethysmography
    • Gas transfer diffusion tests
    • Respiratory muscle strength evaluations (MIP/MEP & SNIP)
    • Capillary blood gas and hemoglobin assessments
    • Bronchial provocation challenge tests
    • Skin prick testing
    • Overnight oximetry, including data analysis and report generation
    • Respiratory polysomnography management
    • Field exercise testing (6MWT/Shuttle)
  • Assess patients' requirements for:
    • Long-term oxygen therapy
    • Ambulatory oxygen
    • CPAP diagnosis and management
