About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Specialist Palliative Care Team at the NHS. The successful candidate will be responsible for actively managing a clinical caseload of patients requiring specialist palliative care.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience at Band 6 or above in a role with significant clinical exposure to palliative care.
  • Experience of teaching in clinical and formal settings.

  • Experience of multi-professional working.
  • Experience of leading and influencing change.
  • Experience of audit.
  • Good palliative care symptom management knowledge.
  • Knowledge of psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of palliative and end-of-life care.
  • Knowledge of the role of the contemporary clinical nurse specialist.
  • Knowledge of National Palliative and End-of-Life Care policy.
  • Experience of research.
  • Knowledge of broader healthcare policy.
Qualifications and Professional Training
  • Registered General Nurse or HCPC.
  • First-level degree in Palliative Care or related subject with evidence of Palliative Care modules.
  • Post-basic qualification in palliative care (degree level if not done as part of full degree).
  • Evidence of Masters-level learning or prepared to work towards.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Advanced Communication Skills Training.
  • Research qualification.
  • Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification.
