About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Trauma and Orthopaedics team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. As a Physiotherapy Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments, clinical diagnosis, and treatment of patients with traumatic injuries and elective orthopaedic conditions.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner to undertake a significant specialist clinical caseload, working without direct supervision.
  • Supervise and teach junior qualified therapists and assistants.
  • Contribute to service development and monitoring of standards of practice.
  • Work flexibly over a 7-day period, as required, and participate in the on-call rota.

Requirements
  • Minimum 18 months to 2 years post-graduate experience.
  • Broad Band 5 rotational experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Previous experience in clinical areas.
  • Experience in audits.
Qualifications and Training
  • Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Good standard of general education, including GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English grade C and above.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) maintained in a portfolio.
Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of clinical governance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to prioritise and organise own workload.
  • Able to cope with complex options and find solutions.
  • Able to work as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
  • IT skills, including computer literacy in email, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Diplomatic and sensitive to others' needs.
  • Able to carry out moderate physical effort throughout concurrent activities.
