As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services to patients within a specialist clinical area. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the overall success of our department.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique requirements.
  • Provide a range of therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, adaptive equipment training, and functional activities.
  • Educate patients and their families on strategies to manage their conditions and promote independence.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Requirements:

Essential Criteria:

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the HCPC
  • Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including recent attendance at relevant post-graduate courses
  • Understanding of clinical governance and its importance in clinical practice
  • Highly developed physical skills, including dexterity, coordination, and sensory skills for assessment and manual treatment of patients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide and receive complex, sensitive, and contentious information
  • Ability to prioritize and organize own workload effectively
  • Ability to cope with a range of complex options, find solutions, analyze, compare, and decide on appropriate courses of action
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • IT skills - computer literate in email, Word & PowerPoint
  • Evidence to support personal initiatives in supporting service delivery
  • Ability to carry out moderate physical effort throughout concurrent activities
  • Motivated and flexible
  • Diplomatic and sensitive to others' needs
  • Commitment to the Trust's values of EXCEL and COMPACT
  • Ability to commit to flexible working and weekend working

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous Acute NHS experience
  • BAOT
  • Involvement/membership in a Special Interest Group
  • Driving license and access to a motor vehicle for work purposes
