About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Clinical Informatics Officer to join our team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our digital transformation team, you will play a critical role in leading the engagement, design, and delivery of our new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership for the EPR programme, working closely with the CCIO team and multidisciplinary Clinical Digital Transformation Team.
  • Lead and promote clinical engagement with and adoption of the EPR system.
  • Support user-centred design, delivery of training, and implementation to clinical teams.
  • Drive continuous clinical process improvement in the use of digital technology.
  • Develop information that supports and develops clinical practice.
  • Develop clinical practice that makes the most of digital technology.
Requirements
  • Consultant medical professional with degree qualification.
  • On the specialist medical register of the GMC.
  • HS Digital Academy Graduate with postgraduate qualification in Digital Health Leadership or equivalent.
  • Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development in Clinical Informatics and leadership.
  • Certified in Clinical Safety of digital systems by NHS Digital.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Masters in Health Informatics or equivalent.
  • Masters in Leadership/Management or equivalent.
  • International Recognition as a certified Health IT Professional with nationally recognised Health IT Bodies.
  • Fellowship Trained/Board Certified in Clinical Informatics as per American Board of Medical Specialities.
Desirable Experience
  • Extensive experience and currently active in clinical practice with at least 3 years in a consultant level (senior clinical) role.
  • Clinical leader for a major ICT implementation project.
  • Active involvement in at least one major informatics programme to improve patient care in the last three years.
Personal Attributes
  • Ability to set clear vision, direction, objectives, and responsibilities, and inspire others by acting with integrity.
  • Ability to drive service improvement and tackle poor performance.
  • Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing, with the ability to express complicated, multi-stranded, and technical issues to a wide audience.
