Facilities Operations Manager
  • Salary: £36,000 per annum
  • Working Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30
Role Overview
As a Facilities Operations Manager, you will be responsible for nurturing relationships with key stakeholders while overseeing a team of approximately 30 personnel. A background in Soft Facilities Management is preferred, along with a solid understanding of PFI contracts.

Essential Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams within a commercial Soft FM environment.
  • Experience in waste management practices.
  • Operational experience in single or multi-site roles, delivering services to stringent specifications.
  • Proficient in budget management and Profit & Loss accountability.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in IT and digital communication tools.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to high standards in service delivery.
  • Commercially aware with sensitivity to pricing dynamics.
  • Collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Professional demeanor with tact and diplomacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client and Contract Management:
    • Foster effective client relationships, ensuring adherence to company policies and prioritizing safety.
    • Assist the Head of FM in surpassing contractual obligations and driving ongoing improvements.
  • Sub-Contractor Oversight:
    • Oversee sub-contracted services to meet client expectations, focusing on minimizing KPI failures.
    • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Implement and monitor management reporting and quality systems, tracking performance metrics.
    • Ensure compliance with profit protection processes and service level agreements.
  • Relationship Development:
    • Build productive relationships at the site level and maintain proactive communication with subcontractors.
    • Seek feedback actively and commit to continuous service improvement.
  • Training and Development:
    • Support training initiatives and ensure effective development within the team.
  • Project and Cost Management:
    • Lead sub-contractor service projects, ensuring budget adherence and clear reporting.
    • Analyze contract costs to identify improvement opportunities.
  • HR and Compliance:
    • Manage team members in accordance with HR policies and ensure compliance among subcontractors.
