Job Description

Role Overview

The Electrical Design Engineer will be part of a multidisciplinary team at the client's site, supporting current operations and future programs, particularly in nuclear facilities. The team, comprising mechanical, civil, building services, and electrical engineers, is responsible for developing and maintaining engineering design substantiation documents to ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design Substantiation: Author, develop, assess, and manage infrastructure design substantiation documents.
  2. Design Changes: Manage design changes/concessions and present design substantiations to safety committees.
  3. Examination and Maintenance: Develop Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) schedules and safety reports.
  4. Stakeholder Guidance: Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders and conduct Independent Technical Reviews.
  5. Engineering Processes: Apply engineering knowledge to design, develop, and maintain engineering processes and systems.
  6. Civil/Structural Design: Justify civil/structural design modifications in a high-hazard industry.
  7. Technical Review: Review technical reports and safety case submissions.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have expertise in current design standards and practices, capable of contributing to concept design, detailed design, and construction stages across various electrical engineering projects. Experience in assessing electrical equipment for hazards and specifying systems for HV and LV networks is essential.

Essential Skills
