Job Description

Electrical Design Engineer - Nuclear Facilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents to ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements.
  • Manage design changes and present design substantiations to safety committees.
  • Develop Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) schedules and safety reports.
  • Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders and conduct Independent Technical Reviews.
  • Apply engineering knowledge to design, develop, and maintain engineering processes and systems.
  • Justify civil/structural design modifications in a high-hazard industry.
  • Review technical reports and safety case submissions.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in current design standards and practices.
  • Theoretical and practical skills in design stages.
  • Experience in assessing electrical equipment.
  • Specification skills for HV and LV networks.
  • Ability to justify design modifications.
  • Familiarity with industrial machinery.
  • Experience in multi-discipline projects.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in high-risk environments.
  • Familiarity with safety case development.
  • Knowledge of nuclear industry regulations.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Safety case related training.
