PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join a prominent player in the modular construction sector. Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Position Details

The Procurement Specialist role is a Permanent position that can start immediately, with flexibility to accommodate any notice period you may have with your current employer.

Key Responsibilities

As a Procurement Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to source high-quality materials that align with business needs while ensuring optimal cost efficiency. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Ensuring timely procurement of materials at or below target costs for both production and site operations.
  • Negotiating prices and making informed decisions based on both financial and qualitative factors.
  • Supporting site requirements, including the rental of equipment and provision of additional materials, while adhering to established processes and accurately allocating costs.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce procurement expenses and achieve cost savings.
  • Understanding market dynamics and cost influences.
  • Challenging price increases and overspending, negotiating to minimize impacts on the organization.
  • Monitoring actual versus estimated costs, providing detailed reports on savings and overspending.
  • Identifying and onboarding new suppliers, ensuring thorough risk assessments are conducted.
  • Maintaining precise procurement records and updating supplier price lists and information.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Resolving supply chain issues and implementing improvement strategies.
  • Optimizing inventory levels while managing associated risks, negotiating beneficial stock holding agreements with suppliers.
  • Promoting sustainability initiatives within the supply chain.
  • Ensuring timely resolution of invoice discrepancies.

Candidate Requirements

To qualify for the Procurement Specialist position, candidates must:

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of procurement experience.
  • Have a background in the modular construction or related industry.
  • Exhibit strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Be pursuing or willing to pursue CIPS qualifications.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
