Position Summary:

We are in search of a skilled and empathetic SEN/Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will engage closely with students with SEN and autism, delivering personalized support to enrich their educational journey and personal growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group assistance to students with SEN and autism.
  • Help in the formulation and execution of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Support the classroom educator in modifying and managing lessons to cater to the needs of SEN/ASD students.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
  • Track and document students' progress, providing insights to educators and guardians.
  • Assist in preparing educational materials and resources tailored to specific needs.
  • Promote social and emotional growth through positive reinforcement and encouragement.
  • Engage in training and professional development to remain updated with best practices in SEN and autism support.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant with SEN and autism students, ideally in a secondary educational setting.
  • Relevant credentials in education, SEN, or autism support (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Autism Awareness certification).
  • Strong comprehension of SEN and autism, including effective support strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere passion for aiding students with SEN and autism.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
