Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, to support students with autism, for one of our client schools in Manchester. This position will be full-time, starting in September.

The salary for this position will be between £420 and £500 per week, dependent on experience and the requirements.

The successful candidate will be someone who has experience working closely with children with autism or a recent Psychology Graduate who has a good understanding of autism and other special needs and how they can impact someone’s learning development. You must be aware of the behavioural traits that can be caused by autism. You may also be responsible for working with children with other learning difficulties such as ADHD and dyslexia. This position will require the successful candidate to work in small groups of pupils or on a 1:1 basis to target the learning requirements of the pupils. You will have to assist the students with their Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs). You will be responsible for ensuring that safeguarding procedures are always followed and that you are able to manage any situations that may occur. You must be able to monitor the progress of pupils, you should be able to give feedback to the SENCO as well as other teaching staff.

For this position, it is essential that you are willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check and that you can provide at least two employment-based references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
