SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Chorlton-cum-Hardy

  • Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week, depending on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with students who require additional support in their learning and development, ensuring they have the opportunity to succeed in a mainstream classroom environment. Your key duties will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support for students with Special Educational Needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning or behavioural difficulties
  • Assisting teachers in the delivery of lessons, adapting materials and teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual students
  • Supporting students with emotional and social development, helping them build confidence, resilience, and independence
  • Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and working with the school’s SENCO to ensure the students’ specific needs are met
  • Assisting with behaviour management and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents where necessary
  • Encouraging students’ engagement with their education and helping them overcome any barriers to learning

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience or a strong interest in working with young people with SEN
  • A compassionate, patient, and supportive approach to working with students who may face academic or social challenges
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents
  • The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a dynamic classroom environment
  • Previous experience in an educational setting or working with children with SEN is highly desirable but not essential
  • A genuine passion for helping students reach their full potential and overcome learning barriers
