Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Clinical Research Fellow with a robust background in epidemiology and statistics. This role is integral to the International Centre for Eye Health (ICEH) and will focus on the EARN Trials, which investigate the economic impacts of providing near vision glasses to individuals experiencing presbyopia.

The EARN research initiative comprises two distinct randomized controlled trials aimed at validating the hypothesis that supplying near vision glasses to working-age individuals enhances their economic status, as reflected in household spending and income levels. The trials will be executed in diverse international settings.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Developing comprehensive trial standard operating procedures.
  • Creating and piloting data collection instruments.
  • Leading a team of international researchers in the execution of the trials.

The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate degree or a PhD (mandatory for the Assistant Professor level) in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field, along with substantial experience in clinical trial management, particularly in an international context. Proficiency in formulating clinical research protocols and submitting grant proposals is essential.

This is a full-time position, offering a competitive salary based on the Academic Pathway scale, with benefits including annual leave and participation in the Pension Scheme. The role supports a hybrid working model, promoting flexibility and a balanced work-life environment.
