Position Overview: The Research Fellow will play a pivotal role in the design, execution, and analysis of extensive clinical trials and systematic reviews aimed at formulating evidence-based guidelines that enhance the health outcomes of diverse populations.
Focus Area: The study of Multiple Long-Term Conditions (Multimorbidity) is critical, as it represents a significant factor contributing to premature mortality and disability.
Key Objectives: One of the primary goals is to investigate how the treatment of specific illnesses may be influenced by the presence of additional diseases within multimorbid clusters. This includes conducting efficient clinical trials to evaluate potential preventive and therapeutic strategies for individuals facing multiple long-term health challenges.
- Designing Clinical Trials: Develop innovative clinical trials within the multimorbidity domain.
- Data Analysis: Perform individual research by analyzing comprehensive large-scale clinical trial datasets.
- Research Communication: Disseminate research outcomes through scientific publications, policy documents, conferences, and public forums.
- Collaboration: Engage with BRC multimorbidity theme activities and meetings.
- Coordination: Work alongside other BRC thematic collaborators across the institution.
- Research Development: Contribute to shaping the research group's strategic plans and assist in writing funding proposals for new research initiatives.
- Qualifications: A medical background or experience with multiple long-term conditions is preferred, including specialties such as cardiology, general practice/internal medicine, nephrology, endocrinology, or neurology.
- Alternatively, candidates with substantial training in clinical epidemiology or biostatistics related to clinical trials are also encouraged to apply.
- Educational Background: A PhD in relevant fields (clinical epidemiology, public health, statistics, data science, etc.) or equivalent experience in research, industry, or clinical trials.
- Experience Requirements: Proven experience in analyzing large-scale clinical trials, administrative databases, or routinely collected health-related datasets.
- Research Skills: Strong knowledge of research methodologies and statistical techniques.
- Practical Experience: Hands-on experience in a research and clinical trial setting, along with publications in recognized and peer-reviewed journals.
