Position Overview:

We are looking for a qualified Clinical Research Fellow with expertise in epidemiology and statistical analysis.

About the Role:

This position is situated within the International Centre for Eye Health (ICEH) and is part of the EARN Trials: Economic Advantages of Readers for Near vision. The EARN research initiative will consist of two distinct randomized controlled trials aimed at evaluating the hypothesis that providing near vision glasses to working-age individuals with presbyopia enhances economic wellbeing, as assessed through household expenditure and income metrics. The trials will be executed in multiple international locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of comprehensive trial standard operating procedures.
  • Design and pilot data collection instruments.
  • Oversee the execution of clinical research protocols.
  • Manage grant application submissions.
Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate degree and/or a PhD (mandatory for the Assistant Professor level) in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field, with substantial experience as a clinical trial manager, ideally in an international context. Proven experience in developing clinical research protocols and securing funding through grant applications is essential.

Employment Details:

This is a full-time position with a commitment of 35 hours per week. The role is funded by reputable organizations and offers a competitive salary based on the Academic Pathway scale. Additional benefits include a generous annual leave entitlement and access to a pension scheme.
