Senior Electrical Test Engineer - Site Safety Specialist

As a Senior Electrical Test Engineer - Site Safety Specialist at Intertek, your primary focus will be on conducting electrical safety assessments for our global clientele at their locations. This role involves extensive travel to various client sites in the UK and Europe, as well as to Intertek facilities.

About You

To excel in this role, you should possess a strong understanding of component-level electronics and be proficient in interpreting national and international codes and standards relevant to the product under evaluation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Set-up and execute specified test programs on client products at their locations
  • Conduct testing of products in accordance with standards, covering aspects such as rating, leakage current, dielectric properties, temperature, pressure, stability, mechanical hazards, and flammability
  • Validate project scope and sample applicability
  • Prepare final evaluation and stage reports summarizing project findings
  • Review client requirements and develop test plans/quotations in collaboration with sales teams
  • Support sales team during client interactions
  • Provide project updates to customers and Intertek management
  • Develop Engineering Work Instructions and SOPs
  • Assess the relevance of national and international codes and standards for the products under evaluation
  • Review construction details for compliance with applicable standards
  • Communicate project status and test results to clients and management throughout the testing process
  • Identify and document engineering judgments within company guidelines
