About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join our team at Galliford Try. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the success of our Infrastructure projects, working closely with our team to ensure that all works are completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in creating a safe and healthy working environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate site engineering control and setting out activities, providing information to operatives and subcontractors as required.
  • Complete diary sheets and provide photographic evidence as necessary.
  • Undertake material reconciliations and ensure all surveying equipment is calibrated.
  • Carry out as-built surveys on complete works and drawings, producing detailed site sketches as required.
  • Assist in maintaining quality records, ensuring all works are completed in accordance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and maintaining accurate as-built records.
  • Assist in basic planning, monitoring & programming, and provide support to junior and graduate engineers as needed.
  • Control and minimize waste on site, identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing new techniques and innovations.
  • Ensure all company property under your control is taken care of and stored securely when not in use.

About You:

  • You will have a strong background in site engineering, with experience in creating safe working environments and coordinating site activities.
  • You will be able to read and interpret data and drawings, with a strong understanding of standard setting out techniques and the ability to use Level and EDM with knowledge of GPS.
  • You will have a flexible attitude to work, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • You will hold a relevant CSCS card and have a strong understanding of office software and systems.
  • You will have relevant experience in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
