Job Overview

This role is crucial and demands a comprehensive understanding of payment systems and products, alongside project management expertise and a collaborative approach to align organizational objectives with the capabilities of our network providers.

As a Vice President in Operations overseeing Agent Bank Networks, you will be tasked with the ongoing regulatory and operational performance monitoring of our agent bank partners, while also contributing to the evolution of our network in line with the broader business strategy. You will engage and collaborate with key stakeholders across Business, Operations, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and the network of agent banks and Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs). You will report directly to the regional head of Network Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a profound understanding of cash payment systems, cash management products, and treasury operations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards across all necessary jurisdictions.
  • Oversee the completion of Due Diligence and Final Assessment Report activities for designated markets and Agent Banks, adhering to regulatory, policy, and procedural timelines.
  • Identify risks and vulnerabilities affecting JPMorgan's Lines of Business (LOBs), stakeholders, and other essential cross-functional partners, collaborating to devise solutions and mitigations.
  • Foster strong relationships with business lines and other partners, articulating key business strategies and requirements effectively.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of assigned markets, applying this knowledge to support business and client needs, while identifying solutions and delivering desired outcomes, including thought leadership on market and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct analyses on provider and network capabilities, formulating recommendations for business partners and stakeholders.
  • Lead the implementation of agent bank changes in assigned markets, identified through the due diligence process, and achieve cost reductions as per pricing strategies.
  • Respond efficiently to market-specific inquiries and escalations from Businesses, Clients, and Network Management colleagues, ensuring swift communication of market information to the Business.
  • Represent Network Management in new business initiatives (NBIs), assessing and identifying risks associated with new or prospective engagements, products, or businesses.
  • Support audit requirements, participate in projects, committees, and governance forums, and represent J.P. Morgan at the industry level as necessary.
  • Manage crisis events affecting the covered markets, coordinating activities and communication across stakeholders and partners.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Proven experience in the payments sector with strong expertise in payment products and systems, including regulatory environments.
  • Extensive experience in Third Party Oversight (TPO), risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional relationship management, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management abilities.
  • Capability to connect various elements and demonstrate sound judgment under pressure.
  • Ability to identify and negotiate innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Background in financial services with relevant industry experience.
  • Self-driven with a strong capacity to collaborate across the global Network Management team and J.P. Morgan, fostering partnerships with LOBs and functional areas such as Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Technology.
  • Attention to detail coupled with the ability to assimilate information and develop strategic approaches.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in risk assessment.
  • Team-oriented, capable of managing competing priorities and thriving under pressure in a dynamic business environment.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Experience working with agent banks, FMIs, or non-bank financial institutions is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Network Management is advantageous.
