Position Overview

The Assistant Manager at Evans Cycles is pivotal in aiding the Store Manager with the daily functions of the retail establishment. This position encompasses leadership, customer engagement, sales strategies, and managerial duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Support the Store Manager in inspiring and guiding the store team to meet sales objectives and deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Customer Engagement: Establish a benchmark for customer service, ensuring the team provides a welcoming and knowledgeable experience for all patrons.
  • Sales Strategy and Merchandising: Collaborate with the team to drive sales, ensuring products are presented attractively and organized effectively.
  • Staff Development: Assist in the training and enhancement of store personnel, focusing on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service excellence.
  • Inventory Oversight: Aid in managing store inventory, including stock levels, replenishment, and accuracy, while participating in regular stock assessments.
  • Financial Procedures: Supervise cash handling processes, including register operations and financial reconciliations.
  • Customer Insights: Collect and communicate customer feedback to the Store Manager, providing suggestions for enhancing the customer experience.
  • Operational Duties: Assist in the opening and closing of the store, ensuring adherence to security protocols.
  • Safety and Compliance: Foster a safe and compliant store atmosphere, following all company policies and regulations.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Complete various administrative functions, such as scheduling, payroll, and reporting, as directed by the Store Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in retail management, ideally within the cycling or sporting goods sector.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

  • Willingness to work weekends and evenings as required by store operations.
