Key Responsibilities

  • Spearheading the design and management of initiatives that promote community self-sufficiency through both new and established services while advancing the locality agenda.
  • Enabling communities to enhance their capabilities through volunteer engagement, funding for services (community commissioning model), asset devolution, and programs such as Lengthsman and Drainage.
  • Actively engaging with community organizations, landowners, and other stakeholders to provide services, ensuring the best solutions are coordinated to meet their requirements.
  • Providing effective support to customer service and locality teams to ensure a positive customer experience, ensuring the contract delivers a responsive, needs-oriented service.
  • Identifying opportunities and methods for enhancing support to local communities through the commissioning model, empowering volunteers to undertake services.
  • Overseeing Community Commissioning initiatives from inception to completion, monitoring related expenses, issuing invoices, and collaborating with teams for effective delivery.

  • Attentive to customer needs with a proactive approach towards all stakeholders.
  • Strong planning and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in presentation, persuasion, and motivational techniques.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Eager to learn and driven to meet objectives.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly the MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Experience working within a political framework.
  • Basic understanding of regulations related to highways, public spaces, and rights of way (preferred).
