Job Overview

As a Bicycle Repair Specialist at Evans Cycles, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers' bicycles are in optimal condition through a variety of services and repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bicycle Repairs: Execute a comprehensive range of bicycle repairs, including brake adjustments, gear tuning, wheel truing, drivetrain maintenance, and suspension service. Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Bicycle Assembly: Assemble new bicycles following manufacturer specifications and store standards, ensuring safety and readiness for sale.
  • Service Consultations: Engage with customers to evaluate their bicycle repair and maintenance requirements. Provide informed recommendations and cost estimates for services.
  • Parts and Accessories: Guide customers in selecting suitable parts, accessories, and upgrades for their bicycles.
  • Safety Inspections: Perform thorough safety inspections on bicycles to identify and rectify potential hazards.
  • Quality Control: Guarantee that all repaired bicycles adhere to the highest quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an organized and efficient workshop, overseeing the inventory of spare parts and tools.
  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by explaining repair work, addressing inquiries, and providing maintenance advice.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in bicycle mechanics, with the ability to diagnose and repair various bicycle types and components.
  • Prior experience as a bicycle mechanic is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with different bicycle brands, models, and components.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Work Environment

This position primarily takes place in a workshop setting, which may require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects. Flexibility in work hours, including weekends and evenings, may be necessary based on operational demands.
