Role Overview and Expectations

The Senior Finance Operations Manager will oversee the financial operations across multiple divisions within Skanska. Key responsibilities include budget formulation, expense oversight, financial disclosures, and ensuring robust financial governance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a central finance team of three, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial business partnering services.
  • Create, sustain, and refine timely, precise, and actionable financial reports for central support functions.
  • Direct S&A reporting for the Business Unit, collaborating closely with finance teams across operational units.
  • Guarantee the completion of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting obligations.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting for central support functions and legacy divisions of Skanska UK.
  • Oversee the central recharging mechanism, prioritizing transparency and simplification.
  • Ensure that financial governance is upheld across central support functions, adhering to Skanska's Finance Policies & Procedures while maintaining high internal financial control standards.
  • Continuously enhance processes and reporting to mitigate risks and promote efficient practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, facilitating their growth and conducting regular performance evaluations.
  • Assist the Group Financial Controller with various projects as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Professional accounting qualification, such as ACA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in line management.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle and HFM systems.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical self-starter with a proactive mindset.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
