MRK Associates is collaborating with a prominent retail organization recognized for its forward-thinking strategies and dedication to quality. We are in search of a committed and proactive Finance Analyst - Operations to enhance their vibrant team.

Role Overview:

The Finance Analyst - Operations will play a pivotal role in providing vital financial oversight, delivering comprehensive financial insights, and supporting operational functions. This position is essential for facilitating a streamlined month-end process and fostering effective business partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Collaboration:

  • Engage with senior management, including the Head of Operations and Head of Property, to deliver analytical support and insights for strategic decision-making.

Management Accounting:

  • Contribute to management accounting for various operational aspects, including Shrinkage, Repairs & Maintenance, and Variable Costs. Conduct month-end assessments with senior leadership.

Balance Sheet Oversight:

  • Assume responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing risks and opportunities, and conducting monthly reviews with the Finance Director.

Forecasting and Budgeting:

  • Assist the operations team in forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes, ensuring objectives are achieved and variances are clearly understood.

External Management Liaison:

  • Serve as the primary contact for external property management firms, interpreting job/store-level data related to Repairs & Maintenance and utilities.

Support for Store Management:

  • Provide prompt responses to profit and loss inquiries from store management.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with VAT and Fixed Asset teams to address queries or perform analyses, ensuring the Finance department operates smoothly and efficiently.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or nearing qualification.

Experience:

  • Extensive finance experience, particularly in month-end accounting and business collaboration.
  • Experience in the retail sector, especially in a multi-site context.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise in Google Workspace and Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive approach.
  • Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Enthusiastic, diligent, and inquisitive.

  • Thorough understanding of the retail industry.
