Financial Reporting Operations Manager


Are you a future-oriented Financial Executive? We present an excellent opportunity to become a key player in our rapidly expanding organization, overseeing financial reporting for the parent entity.

At Watford Community Housing, we deliver essential services that enhance the quality of life for individuals.


Your primary responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements and managing the complete budgeting process for both capital and operational activities for Watford Community Housing and its affiliates.

This position is a Senior Financial Leadership role, offering growth opportunities that encompass engagement with Board meetings, Executive leadership, and various senior stakeholders.

This role will equip an ambitious candidate with the experience necessary for progression to Director and Executive levels.

The successful candidate will oversee and direct the budgeting process from initial preparation through to monitoring and reporting for both revenue and capital, which includes a robust development program.

Additionally, the candidate will lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and will execute these responsibilities with the assistance of a team of four professionals.

Your accounting expertise and interpersonal skills will be essential in effectively supporting and challenging budget holders to achieve the Group's financial stability objectives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the Finance Business Partner to budget holders within the organization.
  • Ensure the delivery of essential financial information to management.
  • Oversee an efficient budget setting and performance reporting process.
  • Manage the accounting for capital expenditures.
  • Lead the financial year-end processes and oversee the audit.


You will be a client-focused leader of the financial reporting function, capable of engaging with a diverse range of individuals.

You will possess strong numerical skills grounded in sound financial principles.

You will have the relevant expertise and a commitment to developing your team to meet the current and future demands of an effective financial reporting function.


Essential Experience:
  • Proven experience in leading financial and management accounts.
  • Experience in managing and motivating staff to achieve exceptional work performance.
  • Recent, relevant experience in producing statutory financial statements from trial balance.
  • A satisfactory basic level DBS check will be required.

Sector Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
