East West Railway Company (EWR Co) is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Rail Programme Manager to join our dynamic team. This role will play a crucial part in the successful delivery of major rail infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

As a Rail Programme Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of complex rail projects, from initial planning and design through to construction and commissioning. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including local authorities, government agencies, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure the smooth execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with overall programme objectives.
  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including procurement, contract management, risk assessment, and quality control.
  • Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex rail projects, with a strong understanding of the industry's regulations and best practices.
  • Extensive experience working with local planning authorities, highway agencies, and other relevant stakeholders within a political landscape.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage budgets of £5m-£100m, ensuring financial accountability and value for money.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence decision-makers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience within the rail sector, particularly in infrastructure development projects.
  • Familiarity with Development Consent Order (DCO) processes.
