Job Overview

The purpose of this role is to deliver comprehensive support and direction to the RMC division during the implementation and upkeep of the Global rostering framework.

This position entails a commitment of 37 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of both AO grade non-uniform civil servants (NUCS) and police personnel.
  • Ensure staff well-being, manage training sessions, annual leave, and sick leave.
  • Recruit new personnel, coordinating all necessary equipment and clearances.
  • Facilitate the training of new team members, offering essential support and guidance.
  • Organize team meetings and document minutes, including action plans for ongoing team and organizational development.
  • Maintain comprehensive oversight of roster management, analyzing data to ensure accuracy and timely results from the department. This includes managing grade/rank, shift patterns, contracted hours, and overtime.
  • Collaborate closely with MDP Chronicle to guarantee the accuracy of data related to skills and qualifications received by GRS.
  • Review and act upon TTCG, providing data on deployable personnel and advising on cost-effective cover solutions.
  • Engage with the MDP team to evaluate policies and implement necessary changes to meet current operational standards.
  • Lead and guide the department to advocate for the use of GRS as the primary rostering system utilized by the MDP.
  • Assess administrative processes to maximize efficiency.
  • Evaluate the rostering software platform and communicate with suppliers to obtain tailored quotes and timelines for development and implementation. Take charge of the delivery of new products and processes.
  • Represent the department and its policies, providing structural guidance in meetings with staff across all ranks and grades.

Benefits

In addition to a salary of £28,300, the Ministry of Defence contributes £7,641 towards your membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.

Where operational needs permit, some roles may allow for a combination of office and remote work. This is a non-contractual arrangement, with all office-based employees expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working hours in the office, subject to capacity and any necessary workplace adjustments. Attendance at other locations for official business will also count towards this requirement.

The position does not provide relocation expenses.

External candidates who join the MOD and are new to the Civil Service will undergo a six-month probation period.
