About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative individual to join our Radiology Department as a Clerical Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the administration team and providing a high standard of clerical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate booking arrangements for routine and complex procedures within radiology, ensuring adherence to protocols and staying up-to-date with changes.
  • Input patient information, identify and coordinate patients across various systems, and utilize multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Ensure Radiologists, Radiographers, and nursing teams are informed of planned patients and procedures, and display patient information and medical alerts effectively.
  • Organize admissions for specialized imaging examinations, liaise with day case ward staff, and coordinate changes to established plans.
  • Demonstrate specialized knowledge of imaging investigations and provide information to patients regarding medications and protocols.
  • Communicate changes to appointments to patients over the phone, often at short notice.
  • Assist in providing a pleasant and efficient service, ensuring patients experience a professional level of care and empathize with upset patients and relatives.
  • Liaise with clinical and non-clinical teams across the Trust and external organizations.
  • Manage and monitor radiology waiting lists, highlighting breaches to the appropriate line manager.
  • Follow the policy for patients who do not attend (DNA) their appointments.
  • Produce and maintain daily appointment schedules, cancel and rearrange appointment sessions/lists as necessary.
  • Recognize and bring urgent requests for patient examination to the attention of Radiologists/Radiographers.
  • Prioritize own workload in an environment where urgent appointments may require patient preparation or rescheduling.
