Job Overview

Alexander Steele Recruitment is partnering with a leading food manufacturing company known for its innovative approach. As part of their ongoing expansion, they are seeking to hire a New Product Development Manager at their advanced facility.

Key Responsibilities:

In the role of NPD Manager, you will take charge of various New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) initiatives from initial concept through to market launch, ensuring the creation of high-quality products for diverse clients, including retailers and food service providers.

  • Collaborate with NPD and other relevant departments to interpret customer briefs and present concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Articulate new product ideas with compelling justification for their market introduction.
  • Work closely with the broader organization to assess costings and the feasibility of new offerings.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of factory trials and initial production runs.
  • Conduct market research and organize necessary product tastings as required.
  • Lead and coordinate with NPD Technologists in preparing customer presentations, which include sample creation, cost analysis, and documentation.
  • Gather feedback from client meetings and relay this information to site teams, ensuring appropriate actions are implemented.
  • Manage all critical timelines to guarantee timely delivery of projects.
  • Maintain awareness of global, national, and local food trends to ensure the development of leading products in the category.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements within the team.

Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a comparable role within a dynamic food manufacturing environment.
  • A degree in food science, innovation, or a related field.
  • A creative individual with a passion for food, possessing a refined palate and a deep understanding of flavor profiles.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled in engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
