Employee Competency Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Training and Competency Officer to join our team at Close Brothers Group. As a key member of our Business Engagement team, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing our training and competency scheme to ensure our employees in customer-facing roles have the confidence and expertise to perform their roles effectively and ethically.
Key Responsibilities- Take ownership of the training and competency scheme and work closely with business subject matter experts to expand the scheme to cover all customer-facing roles.
- Implement tools for monitoring learning completion, including new or updated standard operating procedures.
- Train, coach, and support those responsible for ensuring employees remain competent, providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to perform observations and give effective feedback.
- Introduce a standard method for capturing assessment outputs and individual action plans.
- Work with the Product and Data teams to develop reporting for training, observation completion rates, and findings.
- Collaborate with the Governance team to identify potential training needs or knowledge gaps.
- Develop Key Risk Indicators for senior management's oversight of training and competency scheme outcomes.
- Relevant experience of training staff in a regulated environment, including design and delivery for both soft skills and technical skills.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the full training cycle: needs analysis, design, delivery, and evaluation within a commercial organization.
- Skilled communicator with the ability to engage with stakeholders of all levels.
- Forward-thinking with a genuine interest in the latest learning and development practices.
- Ability to work well under pressure with a varied workload.
- Experience managing a Training Competency Scheme.
- Experience setting competency objectives.
- Internal Verifier qualification and/or External Verifier qualification.
