Logistics Coordinator

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Logistics Coordinator to join our team at The Recruitment Co. in Newport. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for arranging the importation and exportation of various commodities on behalf of our clients, ensuring timely and accurate documentation, and providing exceptional customer service.
Main Responsibilities:
- Liaise with clients to obtain new shipment requests and provide timely updates.
- Verify transport dimensions and weights using our systems.
- Create bookings in our bespoke software and request quotations from hauliers, agents, and carriers.
- Forward official quotations to clients for approval and book shipments with hauliers, agents, and carriers.
- Liaise with collection and delivery contacts, including hauliers, on a daily basis.
- Obtain invoices and proof of delivery.
- Update and invoice jobs to clients, handling internal and external account queries.
- Prepare and complete Import and Export Customs Declaration and Delivery documentation via our third-party software or Government Portal.
- Communicate and email various documentation to clients, hauliers, agents, and carriers.
- Accurately calculate Invoice Sales within our operating system 'Datafreight.Net'.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, hauliers, agents, and carriers.
- Assist the Manager/Director in training and supporting new employees in the role of Logistics Coordinator.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in logistics or a related field is ideal, but not essential.
- Previous customer service and administrative experience in an office environment is essential.
- Highly self-motivated, able to work independently and within a close-knit operational team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-disciplined, reliable, and capable of working to set time frames, often out-of-office hours.
- Logistics or freight forwarding experience with full containers, less than full containers, and air freight.
