Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to join our team at Adaptable Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving change and leading the Manufacturing Operations within our European Business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Run the daily operations covering Health and Safety, Manufacturing, Technical Support, Logistics, Warehousing, and Purchasing.
  • Strategic Development: Develop and implement operational strategies to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Culture and Ethos: Drive the culture and ethos of the teams to ensure resources are used efficiently and effectively.
  • Operational Policies: Implement core operational policies to ensure that the operations achieve their business targets and continually drive for improvement.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure current ISO Accreditations are maintained and expand to other relevant ISO accreditations as required to support the Operational need.
  • Financial Management: Manage operational budgets to drive profitability and ensure the operations have the appropriate resources to meet its business needs.
  • Supply Chain Management: Direct the purchasing strategy to drive down costs of incoming goods, whilst managing quality and lead times.
  • Inventory Management: Drive Stock principles to minimize unnecessary Stocks whilst ensuring the Operations run efficiently.
  • Health and Safety: Develop working practices that ensure a safe and Healthy working environment.
  • Team Leadership: Support and Lead the team of Operational Managers to monitor and measure performance and drive improvement where required.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze all aspects of the Operational performance and develop Metrics and reporting to demonstrate successful execution of the Operational Business Plan.
  • Business Support: Support the Managing Director wherever required, across other functions in the Business.
  • Operational Excellence: Be the go-to person for Operational queries and ensure that the operation is evolving to maintain its competitive edge and continue as Market Leader.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal suppliers and customers to ensure end-to-end efficiencies are managed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a Head of Operations or similar role.
  • Results-Driven: Results-driven with a proven track record of operational management excellence.
  • Education: Degree level or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical Skills: Technically minded with experience working with technical products and new product development.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Awareness of, and exposure to, the principles and tools of lean manufacturing.
  • Health and Safety: Awareness of current Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and best practice.
  • Quality Management: Awareness of Quality Management Systems and ISO9001 certification.
  • Procurement: Awareness of processes and systems to drive effective procurement.
  • Improvement Mindset: Demonstrated tendency to challenge the status quo and drive constant improvement in process.
  • Passion and Leadership: A real passion for what you do, and the ability to inspire that passion within your team to drive the culture through personal best practice.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: A strong entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on approach.
  • Analytical Skills: An analytical mindset.
  • Decision-Making: Excellent decision-making skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills.
  • Manufacturing Background: Required - Strong Manufacturing background.
  • Financial Background: Preferred - Strong Financial background.
