Adaptable Recruitment is excited to present a remarkable opportunity for a Director of Operations to join a premier manufacturing organization. This pivotal role is designed to spearhead transformation and oversee the Manufacturing Operations within the European division.

Compensation: up to £85,000 based on experience

Leave Entitlement: 23 days plus Bank Holidays

Work Arrangement: Fully Office Based

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing daily operations encompassing Health and Safety, Manufacturing, Technical Support, Logistics, Warehousing, and Procurement.
  • The Director of Operations will report directly to the Managing Director and assist in formulating the Operational Strategies for the organization.
  • To establish and execute an operational strategy that encompasses Health and Safety, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Technical support.
  • Foster a culture of efficiency within teams to optimize resource utilization.
  • Implement essential Operational Policies to ensure that the operations meet their business objectives while continuously striving for enhancement.
  • Maintain current ISO Accreditations and pursue additional relevant ISO certifications as necessary to support operational requirements.
  • Manage operational budgets to enhance profitability, ensuring that the operations have the necessary resources to fulfill business demands.
  • Oversee the quality of manufactured goods to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved on time and within budget.
  • Direct the procurement strategy to reduce costs of incoming materials while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Implement Stock management principles to minimize excess inventory while ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Develop practices that promote a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Lead and support a team of Operational Managers to monitor performance and drive improvements as needed.
  • Analyze all aspects of Operational performance and create Metrics and reports for the Managing Director to illustrate successful execution of the Operational Business Plan.
  • Assist the Managing Director in various functions across the organization as required.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Operational inquiries, ensuring that the operation evolves to maintain its competitive advantage and continue as a Market Leader.
  • Collaborate closely with internal suppliers and customers to ensure efficient end-to-end processes are managed.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Head of Operations or comparable role.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a proven history of operational management excellence.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical acumen; experience with technical products and new product development.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools.
  • Familiarity with current Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems and ISO9001 certification.
  • Insight into processes and systems that drive effective procurement.
  • A demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and pursue continuous process improvement.
  • A genuine passion for the role, with the ability to inspire that passion within the team to foster a culture of excellence.
