Compensation: up to £85,000 based on experience

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing daily operations encompassing Health and Safety, Manufacturing, Technical Support, Logistics, Warehousing, and Procurement.
  • The Director of Operations will report directly to the Managing Director and assist in formulating the Operational Strategies for the organization.
  • To devise and implement an operational strategy that encompasses Health and Safety, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Technical support, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Foster a culture of efficiency within teams to optimize resource utilization.
  • Establish core Operational Policies to meet business objectives and consistently pursue enhancements.
  • Maintain current ISO Accreditations and pursue additional relevant ISO certifications as necessary to support operational requirements.
  • Manage operational budgets to enhance profitability, ensuring the operations are adequately resourced to fulfill business demands.
  • Oversee the quality of manufactured goods to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved on time and within budget.
  • Direct the procurement strategy to reduce costs of incoming materials while maintaining quality and lead times.
  • Implement Stock management principles to minimize excess inventory while ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Develop practices that promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Guide and support a team of Operational Managers to monitor performance and drive improvements as needed.
  • Analyze all facets of Operational performance and create Metrics and reports for the Managing Director to illustrate successful execution of the Operational Business Plan.
  • Assist the Managing Director in various functions across the organization as required.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Operational inquiries, ensuring the operation adapts to maintain its competitive advantage and leadership in the market.
  • Collaborate closely with internal suppliers and customers to ensure efficient end-to-end processes are managed.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Head of Operations or similar capacity.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a proven history of operational management excellence.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical acumen; experience with technical products and new product development.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and tools.
  • Knowledge of current Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems and ISO9001 certification.
  • Experience with processes and systems that drive effective procurement.
  • A proactive approach to challenging the status quo and fostering continuous process improvement.
  • A genuine passion for operational excellence, with the ability to inspire that passion within the team.
