Position: Senior Cost Consultant (Band 7)

Apple Recruitment is seeking a Band 7 Cost Consultant to join our dynamic Estates Projects Team within the Estates Services Department. The successful candidate will undertake comprehensive cost management responsibilities for the execution of Minor Capital Works projects and revenue initiatives from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Lead Cost Consultant for all construction, mechanical, and electrical (M & E) projects valued up to £2M, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations for design and installation across the estate.
  • Oversee individual Minor Capital Works projects, which includes managing the Brief, Design, Planning, Procurement, and Execution phases of Building Alterations and Minor Building Works schemes. This role involves collaborating with other Estates Officers to facilitate the successful delivery of Minor Capital Works Projects and managing external consultants.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with senior management and other estate managers to ensure seamless service delivery and integration of corporate estate developments.
  • Ensure compliance of MCW projects with all relevant procedures, Codes of Practice, and Statutory Regulations.
  • Maintain a strong focus on delivering a responsive, safe, and customer-oriented service across designated responsibilities, supporting the estates team in achieving departmental objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the Head of Project Procurement in the formulation and execution of the multi-million-pound Estates Strategy.

Qualifications:
  • A degree in Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in Quantity Surveying.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and other relevant software, including IT systems related to QS measurement and account preparation.
  • Competent in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) with the ability to produce detailed, fully specified working drawings.
  • Familiarity with Specification, Cost Estimating, and procurement processes for Minor Capital Works Projects.
  • Knowledge of Project and Programme Management, Condition Surveying of Buildings, and relevant Legislative Standards and Regulations.
  • Understanding of NEC Conditions of Contract related to design and procurement of Minor Capital Works Projects.
