Position Overview

Brodie Engineering, a prominent player in the Rolling Stock Engineering sector, provides an extensive array of refurbishment, maintenance, and engineering support services tailored for the UK rail and light rail industries.

With operational bases across the UK, we are seeking a dedicated Warehouse/Stores Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our consumables store, ensuring a secure, efficient, and dependable service for our team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of Goods In/Out processes, ensuring proper storage and maintenance of stock levels on-site while supporting the team in their operational needs.
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of COSHH regulations, ensuring the safe handling and distribution of chemicals and paints in accordance with internal protocols.
  • Supervise the picking operations, guaranteeing that production teams receive necessary materials within established guidelines to facilitate seamless production workflows.
  • Coordinate the kitting and staging of items for specific job requirements, consistently monitoring and managing stock levels effectively.
  • Analyze trends and identify challenges and opportunities for enhancement within the department, including tool modifications to optimize performance.
  • Actively support team members by fostering a collaborative environment, contributing to the overall success of the operation.
  • Manage perpetual inventory processes and generate weekly stock usage reports.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine processes to boost departmental efficiency.
  • Perform any additional duties as required.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven supervisory experience in a warehouse or stores setting.
  • Familiarity with rail industry terminology or the building trade.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in conducting and managing perpetual inventory.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Experience with electronic warehouse/ERP systems (SAGE experience is advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Proactive and positive mindset with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels.
  • Forklift license is desirable but not essential.
