Position Overview
As a Senior Regulatory Reporting Accountant, you will take charge of generating monthly and quarterly regulatory reports for the Financial Conduct Authority, Bank of England, and other pertinent organizations.
Reporting directly to the Personal Finance Financial Controller and engaging with various stakeholders, you will oversee the Group's Regulatory Reporting while also identifying opportunities for process enhancements and control improvements, particularly within the framework of the Group's Data Strategy initiative.
Additionally, you will play a vital role in the broader Financial Control objectives, encompassing statutory reporting, key assessments, audit committee documentation, and risk reporting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the precise production and timely submission of FCA and BoE statistical reports, including the presentation of these returns to the PF Financial Controller and Finance Director for approval.
  • Oversee the Regulatory Reporting Control Framework, maintaining comprehensive documentation of interpretations, judgments, and standard operating procedures for all regulatory submissions.
  • Champion the regulatory reporting transformation and continuous improvement efforts, focusing on streamlining processes, enhancing data sourcing, and ensuring a clear audit trail for all submissions while providing subject matter expertise to the Group's Data Strategy.
  • Lead the implementation of new reporting requirements and respond to ad hoc regulatory inquiries as necessary.
  • Stay informed on reporting requirements, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
  • Assist the PF Financial Controller with additional responsibilities, including statutory reporting, key judgments, audit committee documentation, and risk reporting.
Qualifications
Essential Skills
  • Experience and knowledge in accounting.
  • Proficiency in analyzing large datasets.
  • Ability to operate within established policies and a strict control environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
Desirable Skills
  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, CIMA, or ACCA.
  • Experience in Financial Services and familiarity with Regulatory Returns (Product Sales/MLAR/BTL).
