Position Overview

In the capacity of a Functional Assessor, your primary responsibility will be to evaluate individuals and understand how their disabilities or health conditions impact their professional lives. Utilizing your clinical knowledge, you will attentively gather each individual's medical history before conducting a thorough physical examination. Subsequently, you will generate clear and precise reports for the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) to assist in determining each individual's eligibility for benefits.

This position entails interacting with individuals both in person and through telephone or video consultations. Regardless of the medium, you will approach each interaction with sensitivity and compassion, ensuring to ask pertinent questions while adhering to best practice standards.

You can be assured that you will have ample time to conduct a detailed assessment and provide each individual with your full attention. Although you will operate independently, you will be integrated into a broader multi-disciplinary team, with support readily available.

Candidate Profile

  • HCPC Registered Paramedic with a minimum of 12 months' post-registration experience within the last five years.
  • Proven experience working with adults in various clinical settings.
  • Continuous Professional Development documented on your CV.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficient IT skills and experience with diverse software applications.
  • Self-aware and dedicated to professional growth.
  • Honest, maintaining integrity and confidentiality in customer interactions.
  • Driven to enhance quality customer service, demonstrating empathy, respect, and sensitivity in assessments.
  • Capable of working independently to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Willing to collaborate effectively as a reliable team member within a multi-disciplinary team.
